Backlit and LED mirrors: worth the upgrade?

Short answer: worth it if you actually use the mirror for grooming tasks needing good light (makeup, shaving), less worth it if you already have strong vanity lighting and just want the look.

What you're actually paying for

The premium mainly covers the integrated LED strip, dimmer or touch controls, and sometimes anti-fog backing — all genuinely useful, but not dramatically different from a well-lit mirror plus separate vanity lights.

When it's worth it

Bathrooms with weak or poorly placed overhead lighting benefit the most, since the mirror becomes the primary light source for the face rather than a secondary reflection of ceiling light.
