Before you sign anything, ask these:
About the work itself
1. What glass thickness and brand are you quoting, specifically? 2. Is this tempered or laminated, and is that required for my project? 3. Who does the actual installation — you, or a subcontractor?
About cost and process
4. Is this quote final, or subject to change after measuring in person? 5. What's included versus what's an add-on (hardware, disposal of old glass, cleanup)? 6. What's your timeline from deposit to install?
About protection and trust
7. What warranty do you offer, and is it in writing? 8. Are you licensed and insured for this type of work? 9. Can I see photos of similar past jobs? 10. What happens if something's measured wrong or breaks during install?
Red flag: vague or evasive answers to any of these, especially around warranty and licensing, are worth taking seriously before you pay a deposit.
